Job Title: Inpatient Coding Specialist II - Medical Coding Expert
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position that is 100% remote. As a remote employee, you will have the flexibility to work from most states. To be eligible to work remotely, you must be in an approved remote work state for UW Health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine and assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes based on coding guidelines and medical knowledge
- Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (CDIS) for clinical documentation validation
Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Coding certification is required.
Work Experience: Two years of progressive inpatient facility coding experience
Licenses and Certifications: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an Academic Medical Center or Level 1 Trauma Center
