RN – Inpatient – Pulmonary and Medical Intermediate Care Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Pulmonary and Medical Intermediate Care unit at University Hospital in Madison, WI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive and specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities and complex medical diagnoses.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote smooth transitions among levels of care, including critical care units and acute progressive care units.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients with conditions such as Cystic Fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance nursing practice and stay current with best practices in medical-surgical and progressive care nursing.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence and patient-centered care, upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of WI or a compact state.
- Minimum six months of nursing experience or current participation in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program.
- ACLS certification within six months of hire.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and relevant RN experience.
