Amphenol TCS is a leading provider of high-speed, high-bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom and Datacom sectors. Our innovative products are essential for driving advancements in electronics and play a pivotal role for major Tier 1 OEMs worldwide. We are currently looking for a Product Line Manager to enhance our High-Speed Backplane team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Product Line Manager will have several key responsibilities and will be evaluated based on product line profitability. The PLM will identify target markets and customers to foster product growth. Building and nurturing strong technical and business relationships with both internal teams and external clients is crucial. The PLM collaborates with Development Engineering, Sales, and customers to pinpoint market demands for product family extensions, enhancements, or entirely new offerings. This role involves close cooperation with various engineering teams to develop solutions and successfully launch them into the market.
From a profitability standpoint, the PLM is responsible for formulating and executing pricing strategies, capital investment plans, and working with manufacturing facilities to optimize the product line within a cost-effective supply chain. Additionally, the PLM collaborates with Product, Process, and Development Engineering to identify and implement cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives.
- Enhance product line profitability by collaborating with manufacturing, finance, and engineering teams to identify and execute improvement opportunities.
- Utilize internal cost and process engineering resources to establish a pricing strategy that meets target profit margins throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support regional sales teams by enhancing their product-specific knowledge through comprehensive training.
- Stay informed on industry standards and trends to proactively address evolving market needs.
- Facilitate new business development opportunities by engaging with customers and participating in virtual meetings as necessary.
- Collaborate with Sales and Engineering to ensure timely delivery of all project requirements.
- Prepare business proposals and contracts for both new and existing clients; negotiate mutually beneficial solutions for Amphenol and its customers.
- Participate in relevant conferences, meetings, and industry events as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a completed or in-progress MBA and/or relevant experience in finance, operations, or marketing preferred.
- Strong financial, marketing, and business insight.
- Ability to work effectively across various organizational levels and functional areas.
- 2-4 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Finance, or Engineering disciplines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel as required.
