Job Description

The Supply Chain Planner is the focal point for all supply chain activities at BAE Systems Plc. This role develops and implements long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues, production location decisions, and other business growth and sustainment needs.

The Supply Chain Planner supports the execution of programs and coordination of new program/product launches. This includes monitoring key performance indicators, analyzing performance data, and coordinating cross-functional work teams to increase the effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.

The Supply Chain Planner optimizes how supply chain management interfaces with manufacturing systems. This involves planning, preparing, issuing, and controlling material requirements in conjunction with the production schedule. The planner also supports risk management activities impacting the value chain, working with cross-functional teams.

As a Senior Principle Planner, this position requires a strong understanding of procurement and planning process steps. The candidate will be expected to train and mentor junior-level supply chain team members.

The Senior Principle SCP will lead, develop, and implement supply chain strategies for the program/product line. This candidate will network with management and team members across the enterprise to drive success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning experience in a large multifaceted electronic manufacturing environment
  • Significant ERP System Experience (Oracle, SAP, Other), inclusive of shop floor control systems
  • Inventory/stockroom management
  • Project Management experience
  • Ability to verbally and accurately report production status to program team or factory team
  • Create presentation materials and give presentations to leadership team, production team, and customers
  • Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Ability to analyze, react, and train on exceptions in MRP, especially around Bills of Material, Material Planning, Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, and ECOs with minimal assistance from the Supply Chain Manager
