Job Summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking a highly motivated and student-centered Resident Advisor to join our Residence Life team. As a key member of our department, the Resident Advisor will play a vital role in creating a positive and inclusive living environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend staff meetings and training workshops to stay informed about departmental initiatives and best practices.
  • Hold regular floor meetings to foster a sense of community and address resident concerns.
  • Complete administrative tasks, including paperwork and communication with supervisors.
  • Assist with check-in and check-out activities, and provide support to residents during emergency situations.
  • Participate in community development and programming initiatives to enhance the resident experience.
  • Respond to and mediate conflicts, and document incidents as necessary.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a degree-seeking program at UNM, with a minimum of 6 hours of coursework per semester.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Completed two semesters of college or university experience by the start of employment.
  • Ability to live on campus in a provided single room.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check.
