Trinity Washington University, a member of NCAA Division III, is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Assistant Coach for the women's basketball program. This part-time position plays a crucial role in supporting the overall mission and vision of the university and its Athletics department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold the values and objectives of Trinity Washington University and the Athletics department.
- Adhere to all departmental guidelines, regulations, and protocols.
- Assist the head coach in managing all facets of the basketball program.
- Prior experience as a player is preferred.
- Conduct initial player assessments at the start of the season and coach athletes of varying skill levels.
- Encourage team cohesion and enhance team spirit.
- Support team practices and conditioning activities.
- Act as a mentor to student-athletes, aiding in the resolution of both academic and personal challenges.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to the team.
- Monitor the academic progress and conduct of student-athletes.
- Regularly recruit and coach student-athletes, ensuring consistent participation in practice sessions.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record in coaching basketball at the collegiate or high school level, or as a collegiate basketball player.
- A bachelor's degree and prior recruiting experience are preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of game rules and coaching methodologies.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
