Role Overview:

The Applications Engineer will leverage expertise in semiconductor engineering and physics to address intricate challenges. Key responsibilities encompass the development of process workflows, system calibration, sample preparation and measurement, data analysis, and the presentation of findings to senior technical personnel and external clients, with appropriate guidance from management.

Travel may be required, with up to 10% allocated for domestic and international assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate workflows for process and inspection equipment.
  • Conduct sample measurements, data analysis, and interpretation using optical metrology tools.
  • Assist in the commissioning of equipment by verifying process workflows.
  • Work closely with clients to create processes that fulfill their requirements and provide equipment demonstrations as needed.
  • Engage in engineering development initiatives by offering feedback on equipment performance and suggestions for enhancements.
  • Contribute to the creation of operations, training, and maintenance documentation.
  • Support sales and marketing efforts, including customer interactions, trade shows, and the preparation of promotional materials such as demo reports and application notes.
  • Design experiments to facilitate research and testing.
  • Enhance understanding of customer use cases to refine laser techniques for optimal processes.
  • Collaborate across various disciplines and departments to innovate and launch new products.
  • Actively participate in concept and design evaluations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Applied Physics, Materials Science, Optical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience with lasers, optics, metrology, and testbench hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor process engineering, laser processing/machining, microscopy, surface inspection, and engineering statistics is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.
