Primary Care Physician for Youth Wellness Center

POSITION OVERVIEW
PsyPhyCare, a division of Business Staffing of America, Inc., is actively seeking a part-time Primary Care Physician to support a federally funded initiative focused on youth health in a residential setting.
This role involves providing essential medical services on a weekly basis to assist a diverse student population in achieving and maintaining optimal health. The physician will play a crucial role in overseeing the Health and Wellness program, ensuring that students develop the necessary health-related skills and knowledge to enhance their employability.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Wellness Center caters to at-risk youth, offering care and support on a residential campus designed to prepare them for meaningful careers. The student demographic ranges from ages 16 to 24.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The position requires a commitment of 18 hours per week, with mandatory availability on Wednesdays. Additional preferred days include either Thursday or Friday, which can be flexible. This is a temporary position with potential for extended hours following the initial assignment.
The facility operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., with weekends off.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conduct initial medical evaluations within 48 hours of student entry.
· Perform comprehensive physical examinations within 14 days of entry, utilizing approved medical history and physical forms.
· Administer required laboratory tests, including:
- Hemoglobin or hematocrit
- Pregnancy tests for female students
- Pap smears for females over 21
- Chlamydia and gonorrhea screenings
- HIV testing
- Urine drug screenings
- Immunizations, including boosters and hepatitis B vaccines for students in health training
- Tuberculin skin tests (Mantoux)
- Vision and hearing assessments
· Refer students to external medical professionals for specialized evaluations as necessary.
· Collaborate with the Center's Mental Health Consultant for prescription services.
· Ensure 24-hour emergency coverage is available.
· Develop and adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must hold a valid medical license in the state of Massachusetts.
· Required malpractice/professional liability insurance and general liability insurance.
· Current registration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
A detailed Statement of Work will be provided to qualified candidates.
