Job Overview

Gandara Mental Health Center, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our Alternative Options Youth Program. As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in maintaining a therapeutic environment within the residence, ensuring the safety, medical, emotional, food, clothing, and shelter needs of our clients are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to clients, promoting their dignity and autonomy.
  • Assist clients with daily living skills, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Participate in clinical and staff meetings to discuss client progress, treatment plans, and program goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions, progress, and treatment plans.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a human services field preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with youth or in a residential setting.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving history.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Prefer bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates.
