Key Responsibilities of an Electrical Technician:
· Utilize extensive knowledge of electrical systems to perform installations, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs in commercial, industrial, or residential settings.
· Execute various wire terminations and ensure all electrical systems are functioning correctly.
· Demonstrate proficiency with electrical materials and tools.
· Analyze and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders effectively.
· Mentor apprentices and oversee their work progress.
· Maintain accurate records of time and materials used on projects.
· Collaborate with a team of electricians and other tradespeople on job sites.
· Ensure all tools and materials are organized and work areas are kept clean and safe.
· Communicate professionally with colleagues, management, and clients.
· Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
· Journeyperson certification or a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
· Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Requirements:
Skills and Abilities:
· Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
· Supervise a team to ensure project completion with accuracy and thoroughness.
· Familiarity with the latest National Electric Code (NEC) and NFPA70E.
· Proficient in testing electrical systems using various devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters.
· Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) is advantageous.
· Ability to distinguish wire colors and perform physically demanding tasks.
· Operate tools and equipment safely and effectively.
· Follow instructions diligently and uphold the highest professional standards.
Working Conditions:
· Jobsite tasks may involve lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
· Ability to work 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime and night shifts.
· Work may be conducted in various environments, including outdoors and confined spaces.
· Personal hand tools are required for job site use.
· Compliance with safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area is essential.
Special Requirements:
· Willingness to travel to job sites as needed, including potential evening and weekend work.
· Adherence to safety gear requirements on job sites.
· Background checks and physical assessments may be necessary.
· Commitment to maintaining punctual attendance and following all safety and quality standards.
