Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor or Division Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Technician performs highly technical and diverse maintenance duties in various fields, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building trades. Duties may include maintaining and repairing existing systems, installing new equipment, conducting inspections, and performing maintenance and repairs in accordance with state codes, regulations, and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform a wide variety of skilled tasks, including maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facilities mechanical components and electrical systems.
  2. Install, diagnose, maintain, troubleshoot, operate, calibrate, and repair existing energized devices, with voltage between 24 and 480 volts, and install new components according to the National Electric Reliability Code.
  3. Document and maintain records in adherence to Federal Regulations.
  4. Perform skilled duties such as pipe threading and soldering of water/gas piping and soldering of freon gas piping.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and one (1) year of additional technical training or experience in a field related to building operations/maintenance.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Available for on-call duty and must live within sixty (60) minutes response radius from place of work.
  • Possess knowledge in construction methods and building materials.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) Universal Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months from hire date.
