Senior Laboratory Operations Specialist

As an IT Business Analyst - Laboratory Operations, you will play a critical role in enhancing the quality of LIS products and services, analyzing data to inform business decisions, and finding technological solutions to business needs. This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills, as you will act as a communication link between the IT and Executive branches.
Key Responsibilities- Elicit, analyze, specify, and validate business needs, ensuring effective communication with customers and end-users.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures, quality control protocols, and regulations is essential.
- Understand laboratory operations protocols and execute with a strong attention to detail, driving results through effective procedures and processes.
- Train incoming Lab Ops Specialists by following effective SOPs and conduct interviews to gather customer requirements.
- Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis, working with stakeholders and project teams to prioritize collected requirements.
- Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes, developing strategies for enhancement.
- Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
- Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications.
- Translate conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements, creating process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or project teams.
- Develop and conduct peer reviews of business requirements, ensuring accurate interpretation and communication of customer needs.
- Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle, enforcing and redefining as necessary.
- Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of computer languages used within database.
- Understanding of database design and construction.
5+ year Lab Operations Leadership Experience, with at least three years in Data Processing and two years of experience with laboratory information systems.
Physical RequirementsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, with occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
Work Schedule40 hours per week, with a flexible work schedule to accommodate the needs of the team.
