Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of patient specimens in a molecular laboratory setting. This includes tasks such as specimen reception, data entry, quality control, and equipment maintenance. The position requires a strong foundation in science and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specimen Handling: Receiving, logging, and preparing specimens for analysis.
  • Data Management: Entering and verifying patient information and test orders into the laboratory information system (LIS).
  • Quality Control: Implementing and maintaining quality control procedures to ensure accurate test results.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine equipment checks, calibrations, and troubleshooting.
  • Compliance: Adhering to HIPAA regulations and other laboratory safety and compliance standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science
  • Experience with PCR instrumentation (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures
  • Proficiency in using laboratory information systems
Additional Information

The salary range is $48,000 to $50,000 per year. Previous experience with LCMS or CLIA is a plus. This is a temp-to-hire position with benefits and weekly pay.
