Senior Embryologist Job Description

At US Fertility, we're committed to bringing the joy of parenthood through innovative science. As a Senior Embryologist, you'll play a critical role in our IVF laboratory, working closely with our Laboratory Director to ensure the highest technical standards and patient service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day oversight and training of less experienced staff in the lab, focusing on basic and advanced procedures, regulatory and administrative requirements, and CLIA and CAP standards.
  • Participate in the daily operation of the human IVF and andrology laboratories, with 'hands-on' involvement in clinical IVF laboratory work as directed by the Laboratory Director.
  • Maintain a focus on patient service, quality control/quality management, procedural guidelines, and day-to-day duties of the IVF laboratory.
  • Assist the Lab Director in preparation for audits and ensure compliance with HIPPA privacy regulations.
  • Undertake embryology laboratory procedures as directed, demonstrating advanced knowledge of reproductive biology, including the male and female reproductive system.
  • Communicate detailed information to patients, staff, and regulatory bodies, providing support for CAP inspection preparedness and inspections.
  • Participate in Continuing Technical Improvement exercises, maintaining technical proficiency in routine laboratory procedures, and assisting in the preparation of routine and ad hoc analyses of data relating to performance of the laboratory and individual technologists.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's of Science in Life Sciences or related field required; Masters Degree (or higher) in Reproductive Sciences or related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of IVF Lab experience, with advanced skills in Embryo Freezing, Thaws, Retrievals, Embryo Checks, Egg Freezing, Transfers, ICSI, Biopsy, and Cell Loading.
  • Ability to work weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis with other teammates.
  • Accredited by State as a Laboratory Professional if required.
  • American Board of Bioanalyst (ABB):TS certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to build and facilitate good working relationships with staff at all levels of organization.
  • Demonstrated ability exercising sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently, under pressure, and within deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with good research skills, tech savvy, flexibility, and willingness to learn at all times.
