Job Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer

At The Catholic University of America, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Athletic Trainer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the success of our student-athletes and the university as a whole.

Job Summary:

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in planning, coordinating, and implementing programs for the prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitative treatment of injuries to student-athletes involved in various intercollegiate athletics. This role will also involve compliance with administrative regulations, including pre-participation concussion baseline testing, injury assessment documentation, and secondary insurance claims information.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide injury care and prevention services to student-athletes, including identification, care, and treatment of injuries.
  • Coordinate pre-participation clearance processes and approve student-athletes' return to competition.
  • Schedule athletic training coverage for practices and competitions at multiple home and away sites, requiring some travel.
  • Ensure compliance with national, local, university, NCAA, Landmark Conference, and NEWMAC laws, regulations, standards, and codes.
  • Perform as a professional educator and role model to enable individual students to develop as student-athletes and work together as a successful, competitive intercollegiate team.
  • Engage in programs and services that support the student life mission and contribute positively to the CUA community.
  • Administer testing programs for student-athletes, monitor results, contact trace positive cases, and communicate student-athlete status to necessary parties.
Qualifications:

We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree and experience managing sports-related injuries. The ideal candidate will be certified by the National Board of Certification and in good standing, with American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Certification or equivalent. Proficiency in MS Office applications and Google applications is also required.
