The Host position at Montage International is a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their stay with us. Your primary responsibility will be to greet and assist guests in a positive, welcoming, and professional manner, anticipating their needs and responding with a sense of urgency.
Key Responsibilities- Follow the Food & Beverage sequence of service, utilizing standardized procedures to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Provide analytical support and decision-making tools to the leadership team to drive business results.
- Work collaboratively with management, chefs, and service staff to address guest needs and resolve issues.
- Greet and seat guests, controlling the flow of guests while maintaining a high level of service.
- Answer telephones and direct calls as necessary.
- Oversee daily restaurant reservations, pre-assign seating, and communicate with management and staff regarding special guest needs and requests.
- Previous hotel or restaurant experience is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to multitask are essential.
- Proficient in English reading and writing.
- Ability to follow directions, make quick decisions, and maintain organization under pressure.
- Previous exposure to high-volume restaurant environments is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and experience with computer-based reservations systems are preferred.
- Ability to operate a multi-line telephone.
- Positive attitude, self-motivation, politeness, energy, and a willingness to learn are required.
This role requires the ability to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks. You must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment, as well as delicate china and glassware, up to 50 lbs. Additionally, you must be able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period.
The pay scale for this position is $18.00. Montage International is an EEO employer and maintains a drug-free workplace, performing pre-employment substance abuse testing.
