IEA Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives is part of a significant business segment focused on Clean Energy and Infrastructure.This segment generates substantial annual revenue by delivering construction services for various industrial facilities, including power generation plants, solar and wind energy projects, and other infrastructure developments.
PositionRole Overview:
The Field Equipment Supervisor II is responsible for overseeing equipment maintenance practices at job sites, collaborating with vendors to procure necessary parts and supplies, and implementing effective maintenance forecasting.
Location & Travel Requirements:
This position requires extensive travel, potentially up to 100% of the time, covering various work sites within the designated project area.
We provide weekly subsistence allowances in addition to base compensation to assist with living expenses and relocation support.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise field mechanics at assigned locations
Develop an Equipment Matrix detailing start dates, call-off dates, milestones, availability, phase codes, and comprehensive equipment descriptions
Establish local vendors for routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and tire repairs, as well as suppliers for essential equipment consumables like grease, filters, and cleaning supplies.
Participate in daily Plan of the Day (POD) meetings to provide updates on repairs and maintenance
Manage the ordering of necessary items such as DOT numbers, truck decals, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and spill kits
Ensure all DOT drivers maintain current medical certifications and adhere to fuel and driver logging requirements
Verify that all DOT-owned or rented vehicles display the correct DOT numbers and have the appropriate documentation
Submit weekly utilization reports for equipment
Assign approved drivers to all vehicles, ensuring compliance with site number assignments and insurance documentation
Conduct monthly inspections of vehicles to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and compliance with required standards
Create maintenance requests for repairs and damages using the designated tracking system and confirm completion
Ensure fluid analysis is performed during preventative maintenance and provide support to field mechanics
Maintain a project maintenance schedule for owned and rented equipment, coordinating with site teams for timely completion of repairs and checks
Order daily inspection logs and assign them to each piece of equipment
Ensure timely submission of daily inspection reports
Electronically submit comprehensive inbound and outbound inspection reports
Coordinate transportation for equipment moving to and from job sites, ensuring bill of lading (BOL) documentation is signed by carriers
Confirm equipment functionality prior to transportation to other projects
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
A minimum of five years of experience in heavy equipment or construction roles
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High efficiency and productivity levels
Ability to work independently or collaboratively

Work Environment:
Job site visits may involve exposure to various hazards or physical risks, necessitating adherence to safety protocols
Work environments may include exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and loud noises
Regular interaction with moving mechanical parts and airborne particles
Frequent exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals
Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, high places, and electrical hazards
Typical noise levels in the work environment are elevated
