Job Title: Assistant Burn Table Operator

Ohio Gratings, Inc is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Burn Table Operator to join our team. As an Assistant Burn Table Operator, you will play a critical role in the efficient operation of the burn table, ensuring the production of high-quality products while maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the loading and material handling of the burn table, adhering to Ohio Gratings' values and safety protocols.
  • Operate the company's ERP system, EPICOR, to properly transact work product steps and account for production time.
  • Coordinate with the team and supervisor to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Perform operator preventative maintenance and train new associates as required.
  • Follow good workstation housekeeping practices to maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
  • Prior fabrication experience, such as crane operation, metal processing, and material handling equipment experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as travelers, procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations involving whole numbers and fractions in both standard and metric units of measurement.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of prior manufacturing experience with a steel or aluminum manufacturer.
  • 1+ years of experience operating complex CNC-controlled machines.
  • 1+ years of experience with overhead cranes and forklifts.
Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will encounter repetitive movement tasks, requiring standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling grating material of various sizes and weights for long periods of time.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will be regularly working on the production floor, requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold is regular, as is exposure to machine and tool hazards requiring care and attention to safety rules and standards.
