Position Overview

Masis Staffing Solutions is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Molding Process Technician. This position is crucial for the effective operation and maintenance of production processes.

The Molding Process Technician serves as a versatile resource, primarily focusing on the initiation and upkeep of production procedures on the manufacturing floor. Additionally, this role involves assisting in the prompt execution of mold setup tasks along with various other responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in clear communication with shift supervisors and setup technicians to ensure seamless operations.
  • Employ CIM systems to oversee machine performance and optimize processes as necessary.
  • Participate in and execute production and sample mold setups, confirming the functionality of auxiliary equipment.
  • Ensure that molds and all necessary support equipment are correctly positioned.
  • Maintain and validate production documentation in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Provide training to molding supervisors and setup technicians on contemporary molding technologies.
  • Acquire and demonstrate proficiency in all automated machinery and systems.
  • Initiate molding machines once all setup elements are verified, including the submission of parts for quality approval.
  • Assist in the sampling of both new and existing molds under the supervision of a Process Engineer.
  • Support the development of tools and specialized operator equipment as needed.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with the maintenance team.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain work habits that protect personnel and company assets.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement to the Process Engineer.
  • Operate attended IMMs as directed by the production shift leader.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization within the plant.
  • Support and uphold the corporate mission, values, and policies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required; a degree or trade school certification is preferred.
  • Completion of injection molding certificate programs is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in injection mold setup and processing is required.
  • Basic ability to interpret part and tool drawings is essential.
  • Familiarity with standard measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.) is required.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) principles is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work a standard 40-hour week with potential for overtime, including weekends.
  • Capability to sit or stand for extended periods and walk within the facility.
  • Visual acuity with or without corrective lenses to identify color differences and depth perception for safety and product quality.
  • Hearing ability sufficient to respond to audible alarms from a distance.
  • Capacity to lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Must pass auditory screening.
