About the Food and Beverage Team
The Food and Beverage team works together to provide a fresh, full, and food-safe shopping experience for our guests every day. We ensure product freshness, availability, and accuracy on the sales floor. Our team leads food and food services, including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes for all Food and Beverage areas of the store.

Key Responsibilities
As a Food and Beverage Expert, you will:

  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience, prioritizing their needs over tasks.
  • Uphold and maintain the execution of Food and Beverage Standards.
  • Execute Food and Beverage processes, including FDC/RDC replenishment, pulls, stocking, zoning, in-stocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, item removal, signing, and backstock.
  • Follow all food safety requirements and use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.
  • Partner with Direct Store Delivery (DSD) distributors to set and maintain DSD POGs, transitions, and backroom space.
  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting guests and observing their needs.
  • Engage with guests in a genuine way, using body language and verbal clues to tailor your approach.
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the store to solve issues and improve the guest experience.
  • Thank guests in a genuine way and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target.
  • Execute all federal, state, and local adult beverage laws as they apply to your business.
  • Properly handle environmentally sensitive items when breaks and spills occur.
  • Use and care for in-store and personal protective equipment, following equipment control guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others, identifying and correcting hazards, and complying with all safety policies and best practices.
  • Support guest services, such as back-up cashier, order pick-up, and Drive-up, and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties.

Requirements
We're looking for team members who are:

  • At least 18 years old (Bakery only)
  • Previous food or grocery experience is preferred but not required
  • Welcoming and helpful toward guests and other team members
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed
  • Work both independently and with a team
  • Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
  • Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes
  • Capable of remaining focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes
