Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in assessing patients and safely performing routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete timely quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certified
  • Current unrestricted license in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
  • CT experience
  • Advanced certification in CT required within one year of becoming CT registry eligible
Working Conditions

The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
