Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for assessing patients and safely performing routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Verifies physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitate patient care.
- Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
- Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol.
- Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards are met.
- Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performs notification/remediation as warranted.
- Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
- Adapts behavior to meet the specific needs of each patient population.
- Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Preferred experience in CT imaging.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certified.
- Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced certification in CT imaging.
- Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language.
- Ability to work with and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure.
- Ability to work self-directed and function without direct supervision.
