We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and safety in our imaging department.

• Assess patients and safely perform routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols.
• Act as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, providing guidance and support to ensure their success in the role.
• Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care and ensure seamless communication with other departments.
• Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol, including the placement of IVs.
• Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure they meet diagnostic quality standards.
• Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and perform notification/remediation as warranted.
• Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance.

• Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certified, or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry eligible with temporary state license required.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

• Advanced certification in CT required, within one year of becoming CT registry eligible.
• Preferred – Advanced certification in CT required by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.

The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
