We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and safety in our imaging department.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients and safely perform routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols.
- Act as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students, providing guidance and support to ensure their success in the role.
- Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care and ensure seamless communication with other departments.
- Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol, including the placement of IVs.
- Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure they meet diagnostic quality standards.
- Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and perform notification/remediation as warranted.
- Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
- Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certified, or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry eligible with temporary state license required.
- Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced certification in CT required, within one year of becoming CT registry eligible.
- Preferred – Advanced certification in CT required by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity.
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.
Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases.
Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
