We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for assessing patients and safely performing routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
- Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
- Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
- Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
- Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
- Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards
- Assist in the facilitation of departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
- Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of each patient population
- Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or computed tomography ARRT (CT) certified
- Current unrestricted license in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Preferred: Advanced certification in CT required within one year of becoming CT registry eligible
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages specific to the role
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
- Ability to work with and maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure
- Ability to work self-directed and function without direct supervision

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Mechanical lifting devices or team lifts should be utilized. Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.
Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
