Position Overview

The Supply Chain Planner is tasked with overseeing procurement, material requirements, planning, product life cycle management, and fostering relationships with suppliers and customers. This role involves orchestrating, scheduling, coordinating, and tracking products throughout the entire production cycle. The Planner will also integrate work packages and schedules while managing unexpected events and making necessary adjustments.

Key Responsibilities

Master Scheduling Duties

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive schedule management system.
  • Oversee the master distribution schedule, acting as a liaison between engineering, programming, and manufacturing to create plans that effectively allocate resources to meet both company and customer requirements.
  • Manage master part files within the company’s ERP system, notifying relevant stakeholders of any changes or delays.
  • Align sales orders with the master schedule, coordinating the availability of raw materials, supplies, and equipment to meet delivery timelines.
  • Engage in negotiations with external suppliers to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with production and material teams to streamline operations and work with IT personnel to enhance manufacturing application functionalities.
  • Input customer orders into the ERP system.
  • Oversee the procurement of company consumables, including raw materials, tools, cleaning supplies, safety equipment, and office supplies.
  • Manage inventory levels of consumables to ensure adequate stock is maintained.
  • Analyze data sets for the Purchasing and Planning Supervisor as required.

  • Exhibit comprehensive expertise in the discipline while possessing basic knowledge of related fields.
  • Organize materials, data, and workflows to ensure timely task completion.
  • Implement departmental work plans in accordance with company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Understand the interplay between administrative tasks and production timelines, ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Address complex problems with innovative solutions and may lead projects or specific project components.
  • Report performance metrics to management and suggest strategic improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and third parties, monitoring work progress.
  • Demonstrate best practices in work behaviors and leadership, operating with integrity and respect.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication, both verbal and written, ensuring accurate documentation of job reports and timekeeping records.
  • Adhere to environmental, safety, and health regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Promote safe work practices and address job site hazards.
  • Understand and comply with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Strong customer service skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.

Knowledge and Experience

Required Experience

  • 0-2 Years (L1), 3-5 Years (L2), 6-10 Years (L3), 11-16 Years (L4), 17+ Years (L5) of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the required duties.
  • High School Diploma/GED and technical/associate degree.
Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field.
  • Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience in manufacturing with knowledge of trade terminology.
  • Understanding of safety requirements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all job phases.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, bend, crouch, crawl, and twist. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and communicate effectively in person and via telephone.

Mental Demands: Regularly required to utilize written and oral communication skills, analyze complex problems, and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Work Environment: Primarily based in an industrial office/warehouse setting, with exposure to machinery and potential hazards. Noise levels may vary from mild to moderate.
