Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Event Coordinator to join our team at SCI. As an Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and implementing detailed events that celebrate the lives of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate events, including funerals, visitations, and receptions, to ensure they meet the family's wishes and contractual arrangements.
  • Schedule internal resources, including facility space, equipment, and vendors, to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Communicate instructions, expectations, budgets, and deadlines to vendors and support staff.
  • Manage event logistics, including setup, event support, and clean-up.
  • Collaborate with support staff to ensure events meet or exceed family expectations.
  • Perform various event planning duties, such as ordering memorabilia, scanning photos, and coordinating electronic presentations.
  • Source local vendors for catering, flowers, and other services, and ensure compliance with business practices.
  • Develop and maintain event plans, KPIs, and lessons learned.
  • Document areas for improvement and review with manager to implement enhancements.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in hospitality, event planning, or related discipline required.
  • At least one year of event planning or catering experience preferred.
  • Computer literate and proficient with MS Office.
  • Ability to use proprietary software in the administration of responsibilities.

Work Environment

Work is primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor work during all seasons and weather. Professional attire required when in contact with families.

Work Hours

Flexibility of availability is a requirement. Standards hours include nights and weekends, when the majority of services occur. Typically, less than 20 hours a week is worked M-F 8am-5pm.
