Position Summary
We are currently seeking a qualified Helicopter Air Ambulance Pilot (VFR/PIC) to join our team. The Pilot-in-Command (PIC) will be entrusted with all phases of flight operations and will uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
The PIC will:

  • Serve as the final authority on the operation of the assigned aircraft.
  • Engage with customers, colleagues, and management in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Adhere to a training and work schedule set by Metro Aviation, including the possibility of extra duty shifts as needed.
  • Participate in required meetings and comply with all operational directives and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections and ensure the aircraft is airworthy.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and operational readiness of the assigned aircraft.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft Certificate and Instrument Helicopter Rating (Airline Transport Pilot Rotorcraft preferred).
  • FAA 2nd Class Medical Certificate (1st Class may be required at certain locations).
  • A valid Driver's License.
  • A minimum of 2,000 total flight hours, including 1,200 hours in helicopters and 1,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command.
  • Experience with turbine helicopters and cross-country flying.

Preferred Experience
Experience in air medical operations, single pilot IFR operations, and night vision goggle operations is advantageous.

Physical Requirements
Candidates must be capable of:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Hearing and responding to routine aircraft noises.
  • Maintaining a 'duty' weight as applicable.

Work Environment
This position involves working in a temperature-controlled office and outdoor aircraft facilities, with exposure to varying weather conditions and operational aircraft.

Employment Status
This is a full-time position with a 7 on / 7 off schedule, requiring 12-hour shifts. Opportunities for workover may be available based on program needs.
