Job Summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team. As a key member of our emergency medical services team, you will provide direct patient care and support to our patients and families in the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and phlebotomy procedures under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.
  • Insert peripheral IVs, intraosseous devices, and administer IV fluids as directed by a licensed healthcare provider.
  • Observe and document the condition of infusion sites and remove IV lines as directed.
  • Apply slings, splints, and non-invasive orthopedic devices as needed.
  • Assist with wound care and follow Emory Healthcare isolation protocols.
  • Transport patients to inpatient departments as needed and assist with vital sign monitoring and documentation.
  • Initiate cardiac monitoring and oxygen therapy as directed by a licensed healthcare provider.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited Paramedic program.
  • 2 years of clinical experience as a licensed/certified paramedic.
Working Conditions

The Emergency Department Technician will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to blood-borne pathogens, bio-hazardous waste, and other environmental hazards. The ability to lift 75 pounds and carry objects up to 35 pounds is required.
