POSITION SUMMARY

The Equipment Yard Associate plays a vital role in managing rental transactions and ensuring equipment readiness.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist clients with the return and pickup of machinery.
  • Conduct thorough safety inspections to verify that returned equipment meets rental standards.
  • Facilitate the checkout process by aiding customers in loading equipment and providing necessary operational guidance.
  • Perform initial assessments on returned machinery to confirm operational integrity.
  • Prepare equipment for future rentals by cleaning and checking all essential fluids and safety mechanisms.
  • Manage minor maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire inflation, and parts replacement.
  • Identify and label equipment requiring repairs.
  • Coordinate with rental managers and service teams to schedule necessary repairs.
  • Ensure that all equipment is presented in a clean and organized manner, ready for rental.
  • Support drivers with loading and unloading tasks as needed.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in reading and writing instructions and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling numerical tasks.
  • Ability to maintain alertness and safety in all job functions.
  • Competence in following both written and verbal instructions.
  • Problem-solving skills in standardized situations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with relevant experience ranging from entry-level to four years, or a combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS

A valid Class C driver’s license and a clean driving record are mandatory.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and use hands for handling tools and equipment. The role involves frequent climbing, balancing, and communication. The employee must be capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds regularly, with the ability to handle heavier weights occasionally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employees may work near moving machinery and be exposed to various weather conditions. The noise level is typically moderate, and safety precautions are essential.
