Core Responsibilities

The primary role of the Yard Service Technician involves filling propane cylinders for retail customers and maintaining the company's inventory of exchange cylinders. Additionally, this position includes repairing patio heaters both on-site and off-site as required.

Position Summary

Working under limited supervision, the Yard Service Technician will perform a variety of tasks related to the retail sales of propane and yard operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Prior experience in customer service is preferred.
  • Exhibit a positive demeanor.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain a professional and tidy appearance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Capability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading cylinders for customers and delivery personnel.
  • Inspecting cylinders to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Testing equipment for proper functionality.
  • Operating a forklift safely.
  • Addressing customer inquiries regarding products and their usage.
  • Processing payments and providing change.
  • Demonstrating basic math skills and proficiency with calculators and cash registers.
  • Refilling propane cylinders as needed.
  • Recertifying cylinders in accordance with regulations.
  • Performing general yard and shop cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Occasional driving for pick-up and delivery purposes.
  • Repairing patio heaters as necessary.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Frequent hand use for loading and unloading equipment.
  • Regular use of feet to operate pedals on equipment and vehicles.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently; occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $20.00 per hour
