Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical and Instrumentation team in Houston, Texas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing and supporting the development of electrical deliverables on various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and/or support a team of electrical engineers and designers on projects, including PDP, FEED, and detail engineering.
  • Develop project scope of work for electrical engineering and design.
  • Monitor and advise department managers of major project changes.
  • Prepare detail design schedules, staff loading schedules, and man-hour estimates for engineering and design tasks.
  • Report progress, update schedules, manage staffing needs, and hourly budget.
  • Establish engineering and design concepts and data for scope assigned to the group, ensuring technical accuracy and conformance to project requirements.
  • Prepare project scope deviations documentation as required.
  • Research suitable solutions, estimated costs, and timescales.
  • Train less experienced engineers.
  • Review vendor documents.
  • Independently evaluate the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria, and systems to efficiently meet project objectives.
  • Apply standard engineering design tasks and exhibit a working knowledge of applicable codes.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of work.
  • Review and generate design data and/or deliverables from various inputs.
  • Perform sophisticated and complicated designs in accordance with established company standards.
  • Coordinate details and miscellaneous design criteria with other disciplines.
  • Supervise, check, and assist other electrical personnel in their assignments.
  • Prepare and/or supervise and check documents and drawings as required.
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with 10+ years of experience in LNG, energy transition, carbon capture, refining, and/or petrochemical plant engineering/design. A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
