Overview:


The Crisis Management Coordinator is a professional with prior experience in managing emergency situations, responsible for planning, developing, and executing systems that enhance Beebe Healthcare's response to both internal and external crises, including disaster recovery.

This role involves providing disaster preparedness training and information, as well as preparing emergency plans and procedures for natural disasters (e.g., hurricanes, floods, earthquakes) or technological emergencies (e.g., computer network failures, nuclear plant incidents, hazardous materials exposures), terrorist threats, active shooter scenarios, or hostage situations.

The Crisis Management Coordinator is tasked with organizing deliberate practice and simulations, ranging from small-scale to complex, multi-agency drills.

This position ensures compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, and State and Federal regulations governing the institution's disaster response.


Responsibilities:


Acts as a subject matter expert to equip staff with the knowledge and resources necessary to achieve desired outcomes related to emergency preparedness for both internal and external emergencies.

Demonstrates expertise, skill, and precision. Maintains knowledge through proactive educational activities and literature review. Encourages open communication.

Oversees Beebe Healthcare's comprehensive Emergency Management Program.

Conducts Team Member Education, including HICS training, Incident Command Center operations, de-escalation techniques (e.g., CPI Training), and various emergency-related plans, policies, and procedures.

Conducts Drills:
from small, clinically focused drills to extensive, comprehensive, multi-agency exercises. Deliberate Practice and Simulation occur regularly throughout the year.


Engages in Community Outreach and maintains proactive communication with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure a robust, interconnected network.

Produces accurate and thorough After-Action Reports (AAR) following drills and real emergencies. Ensures all outstanding action items identified through AAR are addressed and resolved.


Conducts proactive research and applies evidence-based practices in emergency management and disaster recovery to develop written Plans, Policies, and Procedures.

Ensures redundancy in systems and record-keeping.

Manages Equipment and Financial Responsibilities; prepares and oversees expense budgets within established guidelines.

Actively ensures Beebe Healthcare meets all CMS, Joint Commission, State of Delaware, and Federal Requirements, as well as local requirements related to Emergency Management and other areas of applicable accreditation, certification, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher, with a Master's Degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years' experience in an emergency management or preparedness role, or in a position that frequently handles crisis situations.

Managerial/Supervisory experience preferred. Clinical experience preferred, such as an EMT or nursing degree, or higher.

Familiarity with Hospital Incident Command System (HICS), Disaster Recovery, Joint Commission and CMS Requirements, as well as State and Federal regulations is strongly preferred.
