Job Summary

The Professional Lending Group at New York Community Bank is seeking a highly skilled Sales Manager to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for representing our Professional Lending Group to firms and borrowers, and working in tandem with other bank sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at firms and borrowers.
  • Introduce and negotiate loan programs with firms and borrowers.
  • Collaborate with credit, legal, and documentation departments, as well as sales support and loan operations teams.
  • Review and approve loans as a credit officer.
  • Communicate deadlines and provide updates to relevant internal teams and to firm.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen relationships with clients and update loan programs as applicable.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in business or finance.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a financial sales role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, V-lookup, functions, and formulas.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in financial sales working with credit, lending, or private credit.
  • Understanding of private equity fund finance basics, including capital calls, distributions, fair market value, and applicable taxes.
Competencies:
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to review and explain financial transactions.
  • Comfortable reviewing and analyzing data reports and manuals.
