Job Summary:
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking qualified candidates for Academic Faculty Positions in various departments within the College of Arts and Sciences. Job Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in a variety of disciplines, including Anthropology, Applied Communication Studies, Art and Design, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, English Language and Literature, Environmental Sciences, Foreign Languages and Literature, Geography, Historical Studies, Honors Program, Mass Communications, Mathematics and Statistics, Music, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Public Administration and Policy Analysis, Sociology and Criminal Justice Studies, Social Work, and Theater and Dance.
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with departmental and institutional goals.
- Advise students and provide mentorship to support their academic and professional development.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publication, and presentation.
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and professional development activities.
Requirements:
- An advanced degree in the discipline of instruction (or equivalent professional experience in Fine Arts) is required.
- Strong teaching and communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive academic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
- Record of scholarly activity, including research, publication, and presentation.
- Ability to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with departmental and institutional goals.
