School Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Social Worker to join our team at Edwardsville Community Unit School District 7. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our building team to identify student learning needs and provide necessary supports to promote academic achievement.

• Participate in a building Collaborative Team to identify student learning needs and establish necessary supports.
• Utilize and/or coordinate with outside community resources to provide support for students to achieve educational success.
• Provide direct or consultative services as designated in a student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP), 504 Plan, or Collaborative Plan.
• Conduct functional analyses of student behavior through observations, interviews, and interpretation of behavior assessments.
• Develop and implement social stories, visual schedules, and behavior contracts.
• Crisis intervention and completion of Social Developmental Study (SDS) as part of a Collaborative/IEP team.
• Consult and collaborate with building personnel regarding student progress in area of behavior, emotional stability, and developmentally appropriate social skills.
• Present staff development on topics of expertise and/or interest to district personnel and parents.
• Participate in building, grade level, and district committees, in-services, and related service personnel meetings.

• Superior work habits and ethics.
• Appropriate Illinois Certification (Type 7- School Social Worker).
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
• Ability to work well with administration, faculty, students, and parents.
