Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Marine Engineer to join our team at Weeks Marine. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our dredging equipment and personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure vessel and operational compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Requisition spare parts, fuel, lubrication oils, and other materials needed for efficient and safe operation.
  • Communicate with Port Engineer regarding vessel repairs and maintenance.
  • Complete Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA).
  • Keep payroll records of engine room crew and review their performance.
  • Assign engine room personnel to perform regular maintenance and repairs to pumps, motors, diesel engines, and other equipment.
  • Supervise repairs to ensure they are performed in accordance with specifications and standards.
  • Keep accurate records for engine room logs, inventories, and maintenance history.
  • Track and order fuel, oil, and water.
  • Determine maintenance priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Technical Group.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience on a cutter dredge and/or qualified engine room experience preferred.
  • Ability to work 84-hour work weeks.
  • Ability to live aboard vessel for full rotation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • Proficient skills in standard office software packages.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Fluent use of the verbal and written English language and understanding of hand signals.
