Job Title: Marine Engineer/Naval Architect

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a highly skilled Marine Engineer/Naval Architect to join our team. As a key member of our Forensics practice, you will have the opportunity to lead investigations in the seaport and waterfront-built environment, industrial facilities, marine infrastructure, transportation sector, and high-tech applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects independently and support engineers in the Forensics practice on projects as needed.
  • Support business development activities such as conferences and business development events.
  • Work directly with a wide variety of clients, including attorneys, vessel and seaport and terminal property owners, contractors, and insurance professionals, on a wide range of investigations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in maritime or naval engineering is required.
  • Master's degree in related field preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in the Maritime and Naval field.
  • Marine and Naval Architecture Professional Engineering (PE) License in at least one jurisdiction and the ability to obtain licensure in others.
  • Ability to bring or develop a book of business.
  • Ability to write reports that clearly express engineering opinions and conclusions and support these conclusions/opinions with facts and sound engineering principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines, meet deadlines, and travel to work sites.
