Job Summary

ACTS-Aviation Security Inc. is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the security operations at the Miami International Airport. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation security management and excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight to the security operations and ensure compliance with customer specifications and government agency regulations.
  • Manage plans, organize, and direct the security activities of teams to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and airport staff.
  • Represent the Site Manager during after-hours activities and ensure operational and compliance performance of all employees during their shift.
  • Define staffing schedules, manage labor hours, and work with the scheduler to ensure that the schedule is fully staffed and manages to overtime targets.
  • Implement the ACTS safety program and oversee the continual development of security staff, including supervisors and guards.
  • Submit shift reports to the Site Director and enforce disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Provide coaching, development, and performance reviews to subordinate supervisors and guards.
  • Ensure and maintain all security-related records as indicated by the Customer, TSA, and other Governmental entities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, Management, Security Management, or a closely related field.
  • Five (5) years of aviation/security management or similar experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in the security or similar field.
  • Experience managing in a union environment.
  • Preferred, but not required: Federal security experience, i.e., TSA; experience in the airline/airport industry; security experience, i.e., law enforcement, military police, corporate security, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong leadership and presentation skills.
  • Excellent customer management and communication skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate internally and externally with disparate groups.
