Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team in Morton Grove, Illinois.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist in the operating room as a Certified Surgical Technologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing the surgical field, maintaining a safe work environment, and collaborating with the healthcare team to provide excellent patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the surgical field and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to regulatory agency standards.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide excellent patient care and support.
  • Assist in emergency situations as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records and timecards.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to maintain certification and stay up-to-date with industry standards.
Requirements:
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a surgical setting, preferably as a scrub technician.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Surgical Technology program from an accredited school approved by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 35 pounds, and stand for long periods. The successful candidate will also be required to work designated shifts, including weekends and holidays, and assume on-call responsibility.
