Welding and Assembly Operator

Join our team at Wells as a Certified Welding Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing of steel products through a variety of essential tasks.
As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
- Utilizing tools and equipment to cut steel and assemble welded components according to precise specifications.
- Transporting materials throughout the facility to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture effective working relationships with colleagues.
- Perform mathematical calculations to ensure accuracy in production.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in materials and measurements.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines.
- Interpret production drawings and specifications accurately.
- Utilize a variety of tools, including hammers, measuring tapes, drill presses, band saws, and ironworkers.
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping and comply with safety policies.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
- Successful completion of welding tests for GMAW and SMAW is required.
- Prior experience in cutting and welding is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
The role involves various physical activities, including:
- Standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and balancing.
- Frequent lifting and moving of materials, with weights up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities, including close and distance vision, color perception, and depth perception.
Working Environment:
In this position, you may encounter:
- Moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
- A moderate noise level in the work environment.
- Exposure to various weather conditions, including sun, heat, humidity, and cold.
