Certified Welding Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Certified Welding Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the fabrication of concrete products by executing a variety of tasks. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a clean work environment, adhering to safety protocols, cutting steel, and transporting materials throughout the facility. You will be accountable for cutting welded assemblies according to precise specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
- Perform mathematical calculations as needed.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in production.
- Exhibit excellent time management abilities.
- Interpret production drawings accurately.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic measurements and the ability to read a tape measure to the nearest 16th of an inch.
- Utilize a variety of tools, including but not limited to hammers, measuring tapes, drill presses, band saws, and ironworkers.
- Ensure a clean workspace and consistently follow safety policies and procedures.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must successfully pass welding tests for GMAW and SMAW.
- Prior experience in cutting and welding is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
The role requires frequent sitting and use of hands and fingers. Employees must be able to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally is necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as work boots, hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection. This position involves both indoor and outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions.
