Position Type: Full-time, hourly paid position based on years of industry experience with the opportunity to earn overtime pay
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm
Interview process: phone screening, on-site interview, and facility tour

Duties and Responsibilities of a Control Panel Technician:

Assemble, wire, and troubleshoot electrical control panels
Layout and organize enclosures and subpanels
Install and mount devices onto panels according to specifications
Read and interpret electro-mechanical diagrams and identify component functions
Wire equipment according to electrical schematics
Verify components against the bill of materials for accuracy
Apply appropriate connection methods to the equipment being assembled
Arrange circuitry within panels to ensure proper voltage separation
Use basic computer skills to operate tagging machines and related systems
Troubleshoot equipment, assemblies, and wiring issues
Work under the mentorship of a dedicated shop trainer to ensure your success

Experience and Qualifications for a Control Panel Technician:

Associate Degree in Electrical Technology (or a related field) or equivalent experience in control panel construction plus a high school diploma
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
Skilled in wiring panel devices according to electrical schematics and wiring drawings, and using electrical voltage meters and tools
Proficient in using hand tools and operating wire crimpers/strippers
Capable of reading and transferring measurements from a ruler, T-square, tape measure, and metric scale
Experience with variable frequency drives, reduced voltage starters, motor starters, and PLCs is a plus

In addition to foundational skills, a Control Panel Technician must develop the ability to interpret blueprints, visualize the final product, and accurately identify and correct any errors in circuitry. This expertise is essential for ensuring efficient and precise assembly and wiring.
