Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bio-Manufacturing Support Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sterility of our cleanroom areas and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Decontamination and Cleaning: Decontaminate and clean cleanroom areas and non-sterile equipment to ensure a sterile environment.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of processing supplies and reagents, ensuring that stock is rotated using the First-In First-Out (FIFO) method.
  • Aseptic Transfer: Aseptically transfer equipment and supplies into the cleanroom environment.
  • Environmental Monitoring: Obtain environmental samples for surface, air, and water monitoring in conjunction with laboratory testing protocols.
  • Waste Management: Assist with the preparation and transportation of soiled processing instruments, equipment, cleanroom garments, and biohazardous waste.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate, monitor, and maintain cleaning and sterilization equipment, lyophilizers, and autoclaves in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and equipment-specific SOPs.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification: Must be willing to acquire Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) certification.
  • Experience: Some familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and equipment, aseptic practices is preferred, but not required.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other software as necessary.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to perform repetitive tasks/motions, lift, push, and pull 60 lbs.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Normal office environment, environmentally controlled areas (ECAs), cleanrooms, and decontamination areas.
  • Shift Work: May require evening work and weekend work, with shift times subject to change based on departmental needs.
  • Physical Demands: May require 4+ hours of continuous standing, working in conditions leading to minor personal discomfort.
Health and Safety
  • Health and Safety Requirements: Must adhere to all health and safety requirements specified when entering processing, device manufacturing areas, and decontamination areas, and in the handling of company products.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including scrubs, laboratory coat, gloves, face shields, helmets, boot covers, and sterile suits.
  • Training: Will require training in the routine handling of chemicals and biohazards, OSHA (bloodborne pathogen) training, SDS, and other safety training as applicable.
