The Airframe and Powerplant Technician II is primarily responsible for the inspection, repair, overhaul, enhancement, and cleaning of aircraft. A&P technicians ensure compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration regulations, adhere to aircraft manufacturers' guidelines, and follow company policies and procedures meticulously. Furthermore, they are tasked with maintaining detailed records of all work performed, inspections conducted, conditions identified, and adherence to safety standards.

In addition, Technician II's possess advanced qualifications enabling them to execute engine runs and taxi operations on various aircraft, perform basic engine rigging, and flight control rigging. They are also expected to communicate effectively with clients, estimate project tasks, understand fundamental wiring and structural concepts, and manage aircraft systems. Senior mechanics have the added responsibility of mentoring junior mechanics and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. Typically, A&P Technician II's have completed two or more airframe courses.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Interpret maintenance manuals and inspection guides
  • Supervise and manage projects and technicians
  • Conduct general and routine maintenance
  • Inspect completed work
  • Perform complex troubleshooting of aircraft systems
  • Execute intricate engine and flight control rigging
  • Conduct engine runs and taxi operations
  • Collaborate effectively within a team, adhere to instructions, and follow all company policies and procedures.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Oversee two to three Airframe and Powerplant I Mechanics
Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, coupled with two or more years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of an Airframe and Powerplant license, along with completion of multiple airframe courses.

Language Proficiency:

  • Ability to analyze and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, or the general public.
