The Airframe and Powerplant Technician II is responsible for the inspection, repair, overhaul, enhancement, and cleaning of aircraft. This role entails conducting general and routine maintenance in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Administration regulations, aircraft manufacturer guidelines, and company protocols. A&P technicians are also tasked with maintaining meticulous records of all performed work, inspections, findings, and compliance with safety standards.

Furthermore, Technician II's possess advanced qualifications enabling them to execute engine runs and taxi operations on various aircraft, perform basic engine and flight control rigging, effectively communicate with clients, estimate project timelines, and understand fundamental wiring and structural components. Senior mechanics are expected to mentor junior staff and oversee multiple projects concurrently. Typically, A&P Technician II's have completed two or more airframe courses.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Interpret maintenance manuals and inspection guidelines
  • Oversee and manage projects and technician teams
  • Conduct general and routine maintenance tasks
  • Inspect completed work for quality assurance
  • Perform complex troubleshooting of aircraft systems
  • Execute intricate engine and flight control rigging
  • Conduct engine runs and taxi operations
  • Collaborate effectively within a team, follow instructions accurately, adhere to company policies, and seek clarification when needed.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Supervise two to three Mechanic, Airframe and Powerplant I personnel
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution, coupled with two or more years of relevant experience and/or training; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of an Airframe and Powerplant license. Completion of multiple airframe courses is preferred.

Language Proficiency:

  • Ability to analyze and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Capable of effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, or the general public.
