At Steele Memorial Medical Center, we are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine tests in our medical laboratory, including Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, and Urinalysis. This role is crucial in providing data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.


Key Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including blood counts, chemical analyses, and blood tests for transfusion purposes.
Collect and process medical specimens, including blood, stool, sputum, and throat cultures.
Conduct water testing and inform providers of lab results.
Recognize abnormalities and notify providers immediately.
Perform daily and monthly quality control, maintenance, and cleaning procedures.
Order and stock supplies as needed.

Requirements:
Two year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
