Nurse Specialist in Labor and Delivery

The Staff RN is a vital member of the Steele Memorial Medical Center team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care in the Labor and Delivery unit. As a skilled nurse, you will be accountable for the care of assigned patients, directing others to ensure patient needs are met, and practicing autonomously within the scope of professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and guide collaborative collegial practice that delivers safe, competent care based on meticulous application of the nursing process.
Demonstrate sensitivity and understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds of patients and caregivers.
Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based nursing practice and demonstrate critical thinking skills in the implementation of all phases of the nursing process.
Participate in patient care quality and performance improvement through data collection, aggregation, and analysis of relevant key indicators of quality.
Requirements
Graduate of an approved RN School of Nursing with a current Idaho RN license.
NRP & ACLS Certification required within six (6) months of accepting position.
PALS preferred or must obtain within first 2 years of employment.
AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring required within 1st year of L&D Training.
