Job Description:

The Staff Accountant has primary responsibility for the monthly financial close, preparing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and report preparation. This is an in-office position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Close Process Management: Ensure all costs incurred are properly recorded, prepare journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and report preparation.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger system.
  • Fixed Assets and Prepaids Management: Maintain and reconcile fixed assets, prepaids, and accrual schedules.
  • Bank Account Reconciliation: Daily bank accounts reconciliation.
  • Credit Card Statement Reconciliation: Credit Card statement reconciliation.
  • Process Improvement: Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
  • Tax Return Preparation: Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns.
  • Annual Audit Preparation: Assist with annual audit preparations.
  • Training and Support: Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Special Projects and Workflow Improvements: Support management with special projects and workflow process improvements.
  • Administrative Support: Administrative support.
  • Other Duties: All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Accounting Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • GAAP Knowledge: Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Lease Accounting Experience: Lease accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Reconciliation Experience: Hands on reconciliation experience (cash, capital leases, prepaids, accruals).
  • Financial Analysis Skills: Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Ability to train and manage staff.
  • Independence: Ability to work with little to no supervision.
