Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Physician Office Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various administrative tasks to support our physicians and ensure smooth operations of the clinic and surgical schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage appointments and schedule surgeries
  • Maintain medical records and coordinate communications
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients
  • Transcribe office visits and other correspondence
  • Post surgeries and pre-cert urgent surgeries as needed
  • Communicate with insurance companies, workers comp adjusters, and lawyers
  • Run clinic operations, including checking patients out after appointments and scheduling follow-up appointments
  • Enter diagnosis codes into the EMR system
  • Coordinate physician schedules and activities
  • Provide coverage in the event of other secretaries' absence

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a medical office environment, preferably in a secretarial role
  • Previous customer service experience or other medical office experience with communication to patients
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and EMR/PM systems
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to schedule and register patients rapidly and accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree preferred
