Electronics Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge electronic systems for a wide range of applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electronic systems, including RF and high-speed digital circuits
  • Conceive and evaluate solutions for custom hardware needs
  • Pursue new technical concepts to improve the size, weight, and power (SWaP) of existing solutions
  • Ensure device reliability through rigorous testing under real-world conditions
  • Manage projects and teams, including mentoring junior staff
Requirements:
  • BS in engineering or related discipline
  • 6+ years of experience in designing and testing custom hardware, including RF ASIC technology
  • Experience with ASIC design tools, such as Cadence
  • Working knowledge of laboratory test equipment
  • Project management experience, including managing teams and budgets
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring junior staff
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS or beyond in engineering, physics, or related discipline
  • Extensive knowledge in ASIC technology, including material selection
  • Experience with microelectronics integration, such as chip-on-board and chip-scale packaging
  • Software development skills, including automation tools and test interfaces

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $330,000 annually, depending on experience.
